Canada 150 Events in Haldimand County 

In celebration of Canada’s sesquicentennial, the County will be hosting a number of events that celebrate the people, places and stories that shaped us – as a county and a nation. We will also be supporting programs and events* held by local groups that inspire, entertain & educate.

Special 150th  Events Guide Launch

Join us as we launch our special 150th Event Guide. This guide is full of history and showcases the communities’ special celebrations for Canada’s sesquicentennial. 5000 copies will be available for distributing. Light refreshments will be served.

Traveling Exhibit Launch

You are invited to attend the premiere of the first of our Haldimand Heritage Minutes.  These minutes tell the collective stories of Haldimand County, showcasing the role that our history played in the formation of our nation.  Free family event. Light refreshments will be served.

At this special event, we’ll be launching our free driving tour app. Learn how to download it and enjoy a scenic, historic tour of Haldimand County. Following the waterways and roadways, the app allows residents and visitors to explore our collective history through our various communities.  Light refreshments will be served.

Education Day

This fun filled day will be a great opportunity for your students to learn about the history of Haldimand County and the role the communities played in Confederation.  Through costumed interpreters the students will learn what life was like in Haldimand and meet key figures from our past. Hands on activities. This is a free event but preregistration is required.  We will offer this program for a morning and afternoon session.
