Haldimand County offers a wide variety of swimming and aquatic programs for residents of all ages at our three outdoor pools located throughout the County.

Recreational Swimming

Aqua Fit  An “all-exercise” workout – no swimming skills required. Conducted mainly in the shallow end.
Family Swim  A great opportunity for families to enjoy some fun time together. Children must be accompanied in the pool by an adult.
Length Swim  Provides swimmers with a chance to swim lengths in the pool. Please follow proper lane etiquette. Put some kick in your day!
Public Swim  A time for children and adults of all ages to come swimming.

View our Activity Calendar for recreational swim times and locations.

Aquatic Programs

You're never too young to start, and never too old to learn! We offer a variety of swimming lessons and lifesaving programs for all ages and skill levels. Registration for aquatic programs typically begins mid-May of each year. Check your Spring/Summer Community Guide for more details.

Swim for Life

Haldimand County continues to use Swim for Life as a cost-effective program that is seamless from tots to adults. This in-depth program by the Lifesaving Society stresses lots of in-water practice to develop solid swimming strokes and skills. And, it incorporates valuable Water Smart® education that will last a lifetime.

Swim for Life is organized into five modules:  Parent & Tot , Pre-school , Swimmer , Adult , and Fitness Swimmer. Swimmer levels lead seamlessly into the basic lifesaving awards: Rookie, Ranger and Star Patrol.

Use the pdf_miniSwim for Life Registration Chart to determine in which level to register for the next session.
