You can reduce your curbside waste by 30% and divert waste from the landfill by composting your fruit, vegetable, plant trimmings and dead plants.  Not only is this good for the environment but it will save you money too.  Rather than purchase compost, simply open up your composter and take out what you need!  The process of composting can take anywhere from 3 to 18 months, depending on how well the compost pile is maintained. Composters can be purchased for $30.00 at the Canborough Waste Management Facility or at the Haldimand County offices in Caledonia, Dunnville and Hagersville.
