Haldimand County operates a full range of waste management services, including:
- Urban garbage collection
- Rural garbage collection
- Waste disposal sites
- Recycling collection
- Household hazardous waste days
- Subsidized backyard composters
- Free electronic equipment drop-off
- Free scrap metal disposal at the landfills
- Seasonal yard waste collection programs (urban areas)
Garbage is collected in Haldimand communities on the following days:
- Caledonia: Thursday, Friday
- Cayuga: Tuesday
- Dunnville: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
- Hagersville: Tuesday
- Jarvis: Tuesday
- Townsend: Wednesday

Haldimand County operates both a landfill site and transfer station for the use of the community on a fee for use basis. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Haldimand County operates weekly curbside recycling collection services. Items collected include: newspaper, magazines, glossy paper, telephone books, fine paper, clear and coloured glass bottles and jars, food and beverage containers, aluminum and steel cans, #1, #2, #4, #5, and #6 plastics, corrugated cardboard and boxboard.
Recycling takes place on the following days:
- Caledonia: Thursday, Friday
- Cayuga: Tuesday
- Dunnville: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
- Hagersville: Tuesday
- Jarvis: Tuesday
- Townsend: Wednesday
You can obtain a new recycling black box through HGC Management. Call 888 729 1926 to have one dropped off when your recycling is collected.

Be The First To Participate! The Environmental Services Division is introducing an experimental program for dispersing information to interested residents through e-mail. We are calling this program E-Flyer. Residents who are interested in getting electronic updates on garbage pick-up schedules, Blue-box information, holiday schedules, HHW events, water outages and restrictions, etc. are invited to e-mail us at environmental.services@haldimandcounty.on.ca. Your e-mail address will be added to a mailing list through which we will provide information up-dates to participating residents. You can also use this address to send in complaints or suggestions regarding services being provided by the Environmental Services Division. Please pass this address on to any of your friends who might be interested.
