95 Concession 4 Road, Fisherville, Ontario.

History:
The family of Daniel Hoover built this log house in 1793. It is an artifact of the earliest white settlement in the area, and is one of the oldest homes in Haldimand. It is believed that this family was neutral during the War of 1812, and therefore both American and British soldiers took refuge in this house. There is also a family tradition that William Lyon Mackenzie stayed at the house while serving as Haldimand’s Member of Legislative Assembly.
