History:
These gravestones represent a particular type of Ontario funerary art, roughly spanning 1790-1900, where tombstones were individually crafted objects of pleasing form and decoration. The stones are soft, granite marble bearing carved motifs and touching epitaphs. The oldest surviving stone is January 9, 1845.
