Your Library provides a wide range of materials for home delivery. This service is available for free to Haldimand County Public Library cardholders who are permanently or temporarily confined to their homes due to injury or illness. Other circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Materials will be delivered by volunteers every other week, and previously loaned materials will be picked up and returned to the library. We can select materials for you, based on your reading, viewing and listening preferences, or we can send specific titles that you request.

Public Access Internet and Wireless Service

The Haldimand County Public Library is pleased to provide free public access to computers and the Internet in keeping with its mission statement to provide a welcoming and inclusive community gathering place where people can explore, imagine, discover, relax and connect with each other.

Public computers are available to all library users and offer many resources beyond the Internet: printing and scanning capabilities, access to Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel), and special links to government services.

Computer reservations are automated and require presentation of your library membership card.

Wireless Internet access points are available at all library branches. To use our wireless network, simply register with staff at our circulation counter using your library membership card . You will be provided with a permanent username and password which you can then use to go online.

Free wireless access is available during library hours of operation. There are no time restrictions. Electrical outlets are limited at some of our older facilities, so we recommend bringing a fully-charged battery for your laptop.

For complete details on computer resources available to you, please view

The Library gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Government of Canada in the delivery of computer and Internet resources through Industry Canada Community Access Program grants. The Library has been the recipient of numerous grants since the late 1990s which have allowed for the purchase of computer and peripheral equipment, workstations, assistive devices for the visually impaired and, most recently, wireless infrastructure.

Local History and Genealogy

Many resources are available throughout the County to all residents.  Books and materials dealing with our towns' histories and local families have been collected at all branches. Special collections are maintained in Selkirk by the North Erie Shore Historical Society, in Dunnville by the Dunnville District Heritage Association, and in Jarvis by dedicated volunteers. These special collections can be viewed by appointment.
